Here’s a chance for art directors, copywriters, designers and artists to have their work presented as part of the official 2015 Sculpture by the Sea exhibition held at Bondi.

The Maritime Management Centre (MMC), part of Transport for NSW, established the Old4New lifejacket upgrade program in 2013. This safety initiative involves the Old4New van visiting popular NSW boating ramps, providing the opportunity for people to trade in their old lifejackets for new modern styles.

The program has collected over 6,000 of these old lifejackets which are currently stored in a big warehouse gathering dust. Compared to the new slim-fitting lifejacket styles, the old lifejackets that have been collected are considered old fashioned, uncomfortable and bulky.

Transport for NSW would like to commission an artist/s to produce a piece of work featuring the use of old lifejackets to enter in Sculpture by the Sea 2015.

Application submissions will close at midnight on 11th April 2015.
