Now in its 17th year the MFA Awards showcase the finest thinking and solutions in media communication practice that have contributed to a successful, results driven advertising campaign.

Taking a different approach in 2015, the Awards were announced via an interview with Weekend Sunrise host and previous MFA Awards MC, Andrew O’Keefe. Filmed at the Channel Seven studios, O’Keefe quizzed MFA CEO Sophie Madden and Awards chairman Greg Graham on what makes the MFA Awards unique and what the key changes were that entrants should be aware of for 2015.

A significant discussion point was the additional focus on the rigor of results from entered work. Entrants will now be required to provide a written document at the point of entry, which has been signed by the client and confirms that all information included in the submission is correct. Clients will also be contacted at random and asked to verify again that what is included in the entry is accurate.

Says Madden: “The MFA awards are all about showcasing great work, that works. Each year we look to how we can continue to grow the awards program and ensure that they stay true to their purpose. This year we focused on increasing the emphasis on results, in an already rigorous judging process.”

The Awards finalists will be announced in late August.

Winners will be announced at an Awards ceremony at the Australian Technology Park in Sydney on 15 October 2015.

Says Graham: “I am really excited this year about going back to the unique hybrid format. We can pay attention and respect the work in the theatre style, then enjoy a sit down dinner afterwards and really celebrate the last few major awards.”
