andrologyaustralia_bartender-small_1.jpgAndrology Australia is launching a new campaign via Melbourne independent agency Sense, to help raise awareness of Men’s Health Week, which will run 15 – 21 June 2015.

But what is andrology? Put simply, andrology is the male version of gynaecology and Andrology Australia is the centre for male reproductive health. It is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and administered by Monash University.

Says Carol Holden, Andrology Australia CEO: “One of our tasks it to help raise awareness of men’s health issues. Attitudes are changing but unfortunately too many men still don’t feel comfortable discussing their sexual and reproductive health with a doctor. This needs to change because of the strong links between chronic disease and reproductive health, such as erectile problems, but we need to be smart about how we can reach all men across Australia with limited resources. Helping to promote Men’s Health Week and providing health professionals and community groups with useful communication tools, we see as the best use of our resources.”
