Larry Kestelman, executive director, NBL has wasted no time appointing a strong commercial board and is building a management team that will deliver a product that is attractive to potential partners. The appointment of Publicis Mojo Melbourne continues the NBL’s new momentum.

Says Kestelman: “I am excited to announce our relationship with Publicis Mojo who will play an integral part in rebranding the NBL’s digital, customer experience and fan engagement interface. We have a very progressive agenda to position the NBL as the number one sports entertainment product in Australia and I am confident that Publicis Mojo will assist in achieving that.”

Publicis Australia chief executive officer Andrew Baxter said the agency was looking forward to being part of the NBL during this time of resurgence for basketball in Australia.

Says Baxter: “These sort of opportunities are exactly what agencies want to be involved in. It’s an exciting time to be partnering with the NBL and our Melbourne team led by creative director Ryan Petie are at the forefront of creating landmark campaigns that have won the hearts and minds of Australians.

“We are looking forward to creating that experience for the NBL during this golden era for Australian basketball with players like Dellavedova, Bogut, Mills and Exum all flying the flag in the US – it’s time to continue that resurgence here in Australia with the NBL.”

Publicis Mojo will begin work effective immediately with the Melbourne team bolstered by the arrival of Ryan Petie this week, joining the office from Publicis Mojo’s Brisbane agency where he was deputy creative director.
