The 202020 Vision, designed by Republic of Everyone and The Bravery, and commissioned by Horticulture Innovation Australia, has over the last two years grown into Australia’s largest urban greening network.

A multi-sector and stakeholder initiative, the 202020 Vision was designed to build the industry support and collaboration needed to future-proof our cities, where currently, green spaces are in decline.

Says Ben Peacock, founder and partner of Republic of Everyone: “We’re an agency on a mission to make the world a better place. So I can’t think of an award we’d rather win than for good design in social innovation. The next step is to apply this sort of thinking to all our projects. And encourage other agencies to find a good cause then apply this thinking too.”

The initiative, a collaboration between the two Sydney-based sustainability and social cause focused agencies, was designed to create and measure tangible impact.

Says Valentina Zarew, founder and strategist of The Bravery: “The 202020 Vision is a great example of highly-effective social impact design, created to address major sector challenges, such as the lack of real-life and digital network platforms to collaborate and communicate, and the ability to measure and track the amount of green space in our cities.”

Since its inception, the 202020 Vision has earned over 30 million in media circulation across both metropolitan and specialist media outlets, along with media partnerships with both the Australian Financial Review and The Australian. As Australia’s largest urban greening network, the initiative has had over 250 partners signed-up to the mission including City of Sydney, City of Melbourne, CBRE, Bupa and Brookfield Multiplex.
