Goodbye America. It was sad to leave the place I had called home since April. A place with skies that lit up like lava fields. A place where ambition wafted through café windows, fuelled by giddy start-ups and their dreams. A place where ideas are scribbled on back of dirty napkins, bar coasters and metal seats outside old bus stops. This is motivation in its finest form. I promise I will be back, San Francisco, but new adventures await.

I arrived in Hamburg 12 days ago and was scooped up into the creative explosion of my next internship. The Serviceplan Group is the largest agency in Europe and it was time to share a little Aussie sunshine. Hopefully a bit of German might rub off on me too:

My German is really terrible,

Mein Deutsch ist wirklich schlecht,

But during the next weeks,

aber ich hoffe,

I hope to get better and better.

dass ich in den nächsten Wochen immer besser werde.

It also is my absolute pleasure to introduce you to my art director, Rafael Martins from the São Paulo Miami Ad School. We are now officially a part of the Innovation Team for the next ten weeks. Equipped with my backpack of cheesy jokes and Rafael’s spicy love for typefaces, we have hit the ground running and are ready to craft some beautiful campaigns.

I would like to learn,

Enough German to not be,

Laughed at on the bus.
