sydney crew1.jpgAfter 2 years in its Wooloomoolo studio, Alt. has had to find new digs to house its rapidly expanding team.

Says Colin Renshaw VFX supervisor and founding partner of Alt.: “Last year we grew the Sydney crew by collecting creative director, Jesse Bradstreet, CG supervisor Matt Hermans and senior animator Benji Mattern. We always focus on finding senior artists with serious skills.”

In expanding the team even further Alt has recently attracted the talents of VFX supervisor and flame artist Jason Hawkins, CG supervisor Chris Gardner, and senior producer Dawn Walker.

Originally from the U.S, Hawkins cut his vfx teeth at Animal Logic then left Australia to spearhead the LA Office, later residing at Method Studios in New York.

Says Bradstreet: “Jay has finally come to his senses to take his rightful place at Alt.

“Providing the best VFX for our collaborators is built on having the best people. Not having Jay on board wasn’t an option for us. His exacting eye delivers nothing but the best on every project, and we are thrilled to have him here.”

CG supervisor Chris Gardner has joined Alt Sydney via FSM. He brings a strong technical mind, and disarming, calming intelligence to the band of misfits in Woolomoolo. With a focus on developing the in-house pipeline tools, and simply making beautiful work, snaring Gardner was an absolute necessity as the company grows continues to expand beyond it’s borders.

Also bolstering the production team is the addition of senior producer Dawn Walker.  After years at Method, Walker joins executive producer Kate Stenhouse to “help take it to a new level.

Says Stenhouse: “Having a producer of Dawn’s calibre on board, with her incredible client focus will see us go from strength to strength as we continue our great march forward.”

Says Renshaw: “And now we need a bigger boat. We love this area, so we have found something really special in Darlinghurst, something unique. This year is all about shutting the gate.”

Alt looks forward to moving into the new manor in October this year.
