Filmmaker Eva Orner joins +ape’s roster

IMG_3306.jpgAdding to +ape’s abundant faculty is Academy and Emmy Award winning Eva Orner.

With a courageous repertoire, Orner has evaded bullets, suicide bombings and landmines, pretty much making her the Lara Croft of the film industry. Most recently Orner directed The Network a feature documentary set behind the scenes of the most successful television network in Afghanistan and in one of the most unstable and hazardous places on the map.

Orner mostly divides her time between Australia and the US, with the world in-between, Orner’s US producing credits include the feature documentaries Taxi To The Dark Side, Gonzo: The Life And Work Of Dr. Hunter S Thompson, The Human Behavior Experiments and Herbie Hancock’s Possibilities. Orner’s work has hailed wide-reaching deference, screening at festivals including, Cannes, Sundance, Tribeca and Sydney.

Recently returning to Australia from Beirut, where she was filming Out of Iraq, a feature documentary about gay Iraqi refugees seeking asylum in the US. Orner is currently undertaking Asylum a topical feature documentary challenging the contentious issues of Asylum Seekers in Australia, which is sure to be a triumph.
