Playbig director Luke Eve wins Best Drama for ‘Low Life’ at the 2015 Korean Web Festival

KoreaRedCarpet (1).jpgPlaybig director Luke Eve’s web series, Low Life continues to sweep awards at the international film festivals. Having won Best Comedy and the Grand Jury Prize at last year’s Melbourne Web fest, as well as Best Director at the Australian Online Video Awards it has just taken out Best Drama at the Korean Web Festival.

It also recently won Best Screenplay at the Montreal Web Festival and was one of only 16 web series from around the world to be invited to the prestigious Series Mania Festival in Paris. In the coming months it will be screening at the Berlin Web Festival in September and the Marseilles Web Festival in October where Luke will be in attendance.

Low Life, a black comedy about depression was co-created, co-produced and directed by Eve and shot on location in Los Angeles of last year. It stars Aussies Henry Nixon and Claire van der Boom and a wealth of American and British actors. Praised for its honest portrayal of mental illness and high production values the web series has been garnering Eve a lot of attention in recent months including that of Stephen Fry who tweeted about the series to his 11 million followers.

Eve is currently working on a compendium web series called High Life.
