Plaza signs director Steve Hudson

Plaza has announced the signing of director Steve Hudson.

Hudson began his career in the creative department at DDB London before going on to BBH and then AMV BBDO. By the age of 32 he had won 14 Cannes Lions (including 6 gold) and been ranked by Creative Circle as one of the top UK art directors.

Since launching his directing career, initially through Outsider and subsequently with Hungry Man, Hudson has worked in the UK and the US for diverse and high profile clients such as VW, Guinness, Nikon, COI Anti Smoking, Mountain Dew. In Australia he has directed spots for McDonald’s, VW, Hyundai and several others. His work has been a finalist or has won at every major award show including Cannes, One Show, D&AD, British Arrows and Creative Circle.

When CB caught up with Hudson at his new digs in Darlinghurst he was positively gushing with enthusiasm about his new move: “The great thing is, Australia is creating some of the most interesting and exciting advertising in the world right now – and I really felt I had to move here to capitalise on that. And now, signing with Plaza, it just feels perfect. Apart being a top award- winning production company, the new hiring of EP Caroline David is the icing on the cake. Together Pete and Caroline will make a formidable team, and obviously it’s great to be able to bounce around ideas with a director of Paul’s calibre. I really couldn’t be happier.”
