streetlifeimage.jpgWith the explosion of content and the necessity to entertain while messaging on the web, there has been an emergence of some very quirky character campaigns in the USA. The Youtube  Hallmark campaign with Bob and Kim and the Swiffer campaign with Morty and Lee Kaufman are testament to how successful they can be for brands. Millions of plays isn’t to be sniffed at and Morty and Lee even got invited onto the Ellen show.

Aware of this trend, director Diana Leach from Streetlife Films set out to find her own strangely normal humans, attending bowls, bingo and dance halls.

Says Leach: “Street casting is one of the things in life that makes me really happy. I end up in these totally absurd situations. After breakfasting with Richard and Gloria they got up to dance in their lounge-room, announcing it to be their daily exercise. It was a very special moment.”

Richard is the first in a series of characters she will interview, for a documentary. Leach shot this as a one-gal band with Rafael May mixing and Fanatic grading.
