Following a year of unprecedented growth in industry participation and a 400% uplift in grant applications from the youth charity sector, the CEO will drive UnLtd’s efforts to grow both revenue and engagement across the industry.

UnLtd chairman, Kerry McCabe, said the CEO’s remit would be to implement initiatives with the goal of achieving $10 million in annual revenue by the end of 2017, in addition to driving the mentoring and volunteering programs which currently deliver over $3.8 million in value each year to selected charity partners.

Says McCabe: “UnLtd takes somewhat of a venture capitalist approach to philanthropy. We seek out social entrepreneurs and support them in making a direct and measurable impact on the unacceptable issue of youth disadvantage in Australia. This new role presents a unique opportunity for an individual to genuinely help shape future generations of Australians, further display our industry’s soul and create a lasting personal legacy.

“Having now established a solid brand and foundation programs that allow all in the industry to join the UnLtd movement, we are ready for our next phase of growth and cause-based innovation.”

Since the UnLtd brand was launched in 2013, the orgnaisation has been led by general manager Carol Morris, who has built the charity portfolio from 9 charities in 2013, to now supporting 64 youth organisations across every form of disadvantage and in every state of Australia.

Morris will remain as general manager, focusing on continued growth in workplace giving, corporate mentoring and working directly UnLtd’s phenomenal charity partner portfolio.

Says McCabe: “Our Board is seeking a creative and inspiring leader with an entrepreneurial spirit and drive to overcome obstacles – an individual who effortlessly finds solutions where others see problems. They’ll have an authentic desire to make a difference through leveraging the wealth and talent of a large exciting industry.”

Over 40 of Australia’s top media companies have already united behind the UnLtd movement in 2015, donating over $2 million in media inventory. In addition to the cash grants and advertising opportunities provided through UnLtd Media, the organisation’s Mentor and Giving programs match individual talent and corporate social responsibility objectives with charity needs, often representing more value than cash to the not-for-profit sector.

Says McCabe: “I’ve often heard in advertising that “we aren’t saving lives”. In the case of UnLtd this couldn’t be further from the truth. To date the industry, through UnLtd, has given hope and belief to over 300,000 disadvantaged young Australians and raised over $12 million in cash funding. We want to increase this impact and create a bright future for our countries most valuable asset – our young people.”
