Former Adconion and Amobee MD Matt Hunt launches mobile media + tech start-up Geronimo

Matt Hunt LHS and Olivier Starck RHS.jpgMatt Hunt (left), former Adconion and Amobee managing director has today announced his new venture Geronimo. Geronimo is a mobile media & tech company built to address the specific needs of the country’s leading mobile advertisers and agencies.

Says Hunt: “There is no longer any argument that people are increasingly shifting their media consumption & buying behaviour to mobile. Advertisers are following but most marketing directors recognise they need to accelerate the pace with which they adopt mobile first marketing tactics. Geronimo provides advanced mobile strategy, product development and programmatic media tools to allow our clients to reach their audience on mobile, drive mobile commerce and increase brand awareness – connecting the unconnected.”

Geronimo has built a launch team of six people, headed up by mobile veteran Olivier Starck (right) from IPG Media Brand’s MNET. The company has established partnerships with the country’s leading mobile technology and media partners and has its eyes firmly set on developing it’s programmatic and data platform, and expanding into international markets.

The influence of mobile on the advertising industry has never been more apparent. According to eMarketer, total mobile advertising spend is set to increase from $1.36BN this year to $3,85BN in 2018. This would equate to one third of all advertising spend in the country.

Geronimo has secured a strategic partnership with STW agency Ikon Communications in order to establish mobile expertise for Ikon’s full-service offering. Ikon is wholly owned by STW Group, Australasia’s leading marketing content and communications group. Geronimo is independently owned.
