SWEA appoints ZOO Sydney to give it a tune up with new advertising and marketing campaign
Topping off a dynamic period of significant account wins and some lesser known client successes, automotive parts group SWEA – a family owned business that offers new, used and reconditioned parts for all European makes and models – has selected ZOO group to update and re-brand all its advertising and marketing material, under a totally new brand position.
Operating from large premises conveniently located in the south west of Sydney as well as a branch in Brisbane, SWEA tasked ZOO with aligning the 30-year old business’ brand with the tone, manner, look and feel of the premium European car marque’s it handles – whilst still retaining the sense of warmth and humour the family see as being a fundamental part of how they deal with clients and suppliers.
Says Mark Lees, creative partner, ZOO Sydney: “Once we’d got to the simple re-position line of ‘European Experts’ for SWEA, we began to have some fun with what that could look like taken to the nth degree. While lines like, ‘Any more Swedish and we’d have our own porn channel’ didn’t make it for obvious reasons, they cracked the client up and broke the ice, so SWEA could quickly see that we had created a campaign idea that any creative worth their salt could easily follow.”
The campaign has already commenced using pre-rolls and an engaging digital marketing plan targeted at all past, present and potential customers and suppliers.
The last 12 months for ZOO group have been outstanding with great work being done for new and current clients including Spirax, Jack Daniel’s, Ferrero Rocher, ABC, Taiwan Tourism, Ricoh and many others.
Speaking to Campaign Brief recently, Sydney managing director and founder Simon Cubbin said: “We are really focused on doing great work with clients that respect the value of creative and client collaboration to produce outstanding measurable results.”

Damn it, why didn’t I get the memo that casual friday is now ‘casual racism friday’.
@Educated White Guy
People who feel the need to describe themselves as “Educated” are generally wankers.
I don’t mind the idea, and the lines are OK. The art direction is a bit of a wasted opportunity, I feel. But it’s not racist.
Yeah you tell them! I mean what sort of idiot thinks that stereotyping people based on their race is racist… Oh wait.
Love it. Especially the racist headlines.
Fuck me, I can’t believe that noone said anything, how the fuck did these get out.
Here’s a few more.
“Any more English and we’d be shit at cricket’
“Any more Greek and we’d take it up the arse’
“Any more Swedish and we’d be too busy making porn films’
“Any more Dutch we’d be bored senseless by each other’s innate earnestness.’
“Any more Belgian and so fucking what?’
“Any more European and we’d be less fucking racist and have a bigger heart when it comes to letting asylum seekers into this intrinsically racist country that has boundless plains”
