Battle_facebook_image_472x394_v01[1].jpgADMA’s NSW 30Below November event ‘The Battle of the Channels’ is set to launch on Thursday, 12 November at 6:00pm-9:00pm at Hotel CBD, Level 4, 75 York Street in Sydney.

The event will hear from a panel of media luminaries who will each have seven minutes to extoll the merits of a particular channel and what role it should play – and which objective it can achieve – in the media mix.

Tickets cost $30 and include drinks and canapes.

In today’s rapidly changing multi-channel landscape young marketers and advertisers need to understand how each channel is evolving and how it can be used most effectively to reach campaign objectives.

The virtues of TV will be extolled by Leigh Terry, CEO, Omnicom, Radio by Ralph Van Dijk , founder, Eardrum, Social by Liz Anderson, client partner, Facebook, Digital by Gavin McLeod, ECD, R/GA and Print by Marina Go, general manager of the Bauer/Hearst brands; Harper’s Bazaar, Elle and Cosmopolitan. Jen Peace, head of business development at BWM Dentsu will act as MC asking each panellist “How is your channel effective in the ever-changing, multi-screened landscape of today?

Leigh Terry (Television)

CEO at Omnicom Media Group, Terry has always been passionate about television and its impact on consumers. He manages staff in 16 offices across such media buying agencies as OMD, PHD, Accuen and Foundation, making Terry more than qualified to stand his ground when it comes to his corner of the channel ring.

Gavin McLeod (Digital)

McLeod was one of the initial team that kicked things off when R/GA opened a Sydney office in 2013. Since then, he’s helped build a 60+ digital agency that creates award-winning work across Telstra, ANZ, Coke, Twitter and Google. McLeod has a vision for marketing in the digital age, encompassing everything from digital platforms to innovative comms.

Ralph van Dijk, Eadrum (Radio)

In 1988 while working for a small agency, van Dijk wrote his first ever radio ad. It went on to win a coveted Clio Award. Now, van Dijk is a world authority in audio and radio advertising. Last year alone his company, Eardrum, created the most awarded radio ad in the word, won Radio and Audio Agency of the Year (the second year running) and picked up both Gold and Grand Prix at Cannes, One Show and New York festivals. It’s safe to say van Dijk knows what sounds good.

Liz Anderson (Social)

Coming from a marketing manager background in regional brand management and shopper marketing experience, Anderson is now client partner at social media giant, Facebook. She specialises in consumer insight, strategy, new product launches and market analysis, to name a few.

Marina Go (Print)

Go is general manger of the Bauer/Heart brands; Harper’s Bazaar, ELLE and Cosmopolitan. Her career began as a news journalist, before taking on the roles of Editor of Dolly, ELLE, Australian Good Taste and Sunday Life. Most recently Go has held senior executive roles at a number of media companies.

Jen Peace (MC)

Our MC, Peace, has had a career spanning the advertising and marketing spectrum – from gaming and fashion brands to banking and insurance. With a keen ability to drive strategy and creative to deliver tangible results, Peace knows what’s effective.
