Motor Accident Commission SA tells country drivers to buckle up in new outdoor ad via KWP!

MAC_Seatbelts_Outdoor (1).jpgA new outdoor campaign, created by KWP! Advertising for the Motor Accident Commission of South Australia (MAC) urges regional motorists to buckle up, in a not so subtle way.

The fact is, wearing a seatbelt doubles your chance of surviving a crash and substantially reduces the risk of serious injury.

Whilst the vast majority of motorists (98%) buckle up when they take to the roads, seatbelt usage rates are significantly lower in regional South Australia. Especially among younger people aged 20 – 29 years.

MAC general manager of Road Safety, Michael Cornish says wearing a seatbelt is easy yet many South Australian motorists continue to not wear one and are dying on our roads as a result.

Says Cornish: “It’s hard to believe but some people are complacent when it comes to the simple act of wearing a seatbelt. If we can get more people wearing seatbelts more often, we can hopefully prevent many deaths on our roads.”

Says Corey Swaffer, senior creative, KWP!: “The billboard is a bit cheeky and provocative but it’s how these country lads talk. We need to get their attention and change their behaviour.”

The outdoor campaign is appearing on MAC’s network of 51 roadside billboards throughout regional South Australia.
