PeterCarstairs10.jpegNowhere Boys, the television series directed by Mr Smith director, Peter Carstairs (left) has been nominated for a 2015 British Academy of Film & Television Award (BAFTA) for Best Children’s Series. This comes just a few months after being nominated for an International Emmy Award.

Carstairs directed three episodes of Season 1 of the series produced in Melbourne by Matchbox Pictures.

Locally Carstairs was nominated for an Australian Director’s Guild award.

Since Carstairs joined Mr Smith in late 2014, he has had a really busy time directing performance and comedy commercials for clients such as Ford, Holden, Fiat and Betfair.  His recent work includes Holden Colorado “Tough, Scrubbed Up” spot for AJF Partnership.

Says Helene Nicol, producer: “Everytime we show the reel to an agency team where they have kids all the questions are about Nowhere Boys – seems to have a bit of a cult following.”
