Sydney-based music and sound production company Smith & Western has just completed work on a reboot of Horizon – the world’s most watched gay web series with over 50-million viewers worldwide.

Horizon is a hugely successful web series which premiered on YouTube in 2009 and quickly became the most watched online series made out of Australia and the most watched gay web series in the world.

Horizon.jpgSmith & Western were brought in to work on the reboot pilot by A-list director Stephan Elliott (writer and director of Priscilla Queen of the Desert). Ant Smith, Nick West and Dan Higson scored the 60-minute pilot working closely with Elliot who was keen to find a new sound for the show.

Horizon, which was originally created by Boaz Stark back in 2009, went viral and quickly became a worldwide hit with several seasons available online. The reboot pilot of Horizon (with significantly higher production values than the previous series) will be used to seal distribution deals with subscription based streaming services around the world.

On other news, Smith & Western has been working with LA-based Aussie director Sean Meehan and AJF Partnership in Melbourne on a new spot for Dairy Farmers and with The Lifestyle Channel on a series of promo spots for the the much anticipated new Foxtel series of The Great Australian Bake Off featuring an all-singing, all-dancing version of “A Spoonful Of Sugar” complete with singing bakers!
