Sihabutr Xoomsai (1).jpgAdFest has announced Sihabutr Xoomsai, Thailand’s award-winning director who is better known in the industry as ‘Tenn’, as next year’s jury president for Film Craft Lotus and New Director Lotus.

Tenn is a director at Triton Film, a Thai production company that was originally founded by renowned Thai photographer / director Sihasak Xoomsai. As jury president for Film Craft Lotus and New Director Lotus at AdFest 2016, Tenn will help to identify the region’s best-executed films and top emerging directors.

Says Tenn: “I am honoured and very excited to be joining AdFest as jury president for Film Craft Lotus and New Director Lotus. The judging panel and the work summited to AdFest 2015 this year was fantastic. I am really looking forward to seeing new and fresh work from around the region next year.”

Tenn graduated from the Art Centre College of Design in California in 1993 and began his career as a fashion photographer and assistant director. He landed his first big break when Leo Burnett asked him to direct a commercial for Hennessy, which was a huge success and aired throughout Asia.

Since then, he has won many awards locally and internationally at AdFest, Cannes, the CLIO Awards, Mobius Awards and the London International Awards, to name just a few. He now works with international agencies across Asia.

Says Jimmy Lam, president, AdFest: “Tenn is a talented director with a burning passion for filmmaking, and I know he will bring this passion with him to AdFest 2016. As someone who has lived in the United States but is ‘made in Asia’, he has the perfect global perspective to lead next year’s Film Craft and New Director jury. We’re also pleased to have him join us at a time when AdFest is offering so many initiatives for emerging directors, such as the Fabulous Four program, as well as our new ‘Film School’ sub-category for film students.”

The New Director Lotus category now includes a new sub-category called Film School, which is eligible to students entering films created for school projects.

AdFest 2016 runs from Wednesday 16th – Saturday 19th March at the Royal Cliff Hotels Group in Pattaya, Thailand. For more information, visit www.ADFEST.com.
