Reporting directly to STW CEO Michael Connaghan, Gerrie (pictured) will retain his existing role as CFO but with an expanded remit that now covers operations across all Ikon offices.

Effective immediately, Gerrie will assume responsibility for marketing, operations and services across the Ikon Group in Australia and New Zealand, working closely with Managing Partners in each market.

His responsibilities include the alignment and prioritisation of Ikon investments and ensuring operational excellence across the Group. This encompasses Ikon Group Sydney, and Ikon Communications in Brisbane, Melbourne and Auckland.

Connaghan, said the newly created dual role was an integral part of Ikon Group’s strategy to continually respond to local market demand, and at the same time offer inter-office efficiencies and services.

Says Connaghan: “In reality David has been carrying out much of this role for a while now. Ikon Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne have all had strong growth this year. David’s official appointment is recognition of the fact that Ikon now has a much larger footprint in Australia. We need to harness the benefit of having strong managing partners in each office that can work together and share the load of developing the Ikon offer. David is the perfect guy.”

Says Gerrie: “I have always had a passion for working with like-minded business leaders to create high performing work places and companies.  I am incredibly excited to help lead the Group into its next phase of growth tied with operational excellence.”

Gerrie has had an illustrious 20-year career in agencies ranging from global networks to locally owned operations.  He joined Ikon in 2010 from Starcom Mediavest where he was Financial Controller.  He has also held senior roles at PG Lion Resources, and ZenithOptimedia.
