The new record for the “world’s largest surf lesson” was officially announced by Guinness World Records at Bondi Beach this morning, after 320 locals paddled out and participated in a 30 minute surf lesson from RedBalloon supplier ‘Let’s Go Surfing’.

Says Nick Baker, CEO of RedBalloon: “Surfing in December truly highlights the Australian summer Christmas. We were really excited to work with ‘Let’s Go Surfing’ and with Bondi locals to break this record and to share an unforgettable RedBalloon experience with all 320 who participated. Today was a great example of what RedBalloon stands for at Christmas – that the best gifts cannot be wrapped.”

Further spreading the spirt of Christmas, RedBalloon is donating $10 for every participant in the 250 needed to break the record to ‘One Wave’, a non-profit Bondi surf community raising awareness for mental health.

Says Baker: “One Wave are an inspiring organisation that does fantastic work with the community. We are thrilled to be able to support this like-minded group that understands the importance of positive experience to wellbeing.”

Surf lessons are just one of the thousands of experiences offered by RedBalloon this Christmas. With the 25th of December just around the corner, RedBalloon is making it easier for Australians to find truly special presents with an expanded range of over 3,000 experiential and personalised gifts. RedBalloon gifts and vouchers will be available throughout the whole festive season, meaning last minute shoppers can purchase unique and meaningful presents right up to Christmas morning.
