Amaysim extends its ‘less hassle, more hoff’ campaign with new spots via Special Group
Burger Films’ Matt Huntley is back to direct the latest campaign for Australia’s fourth largest mobile service provider, amaysim, created by Special Group Australia.
The latest films for the popular “less hassle, more Hoff” campaign highlight how dropping life’s ‘hassles’ can be as simple as switching mobile service provider.
Says Cade Heyde, managing partner, Special Group: “The first films had to introduce the brand platform and the idea, where this new suite of films focuses single-mindedly on some of the best expressions of amaysim’s brand promise of simplicity.”
The first phase of the campaign launched in November 2015 via social media and saw its star David Hasselhoff share a film announcing he’d dropped the ‘hassle’ from his life and his name, by changing his name to ‘David Hoff.’ With speculation rife as to why – the name change caused international media hype and the hashtag #DavidHasselhoff to trend globally on Twitter.
In addition to the press across the world from the likes of ABC News, FOX, Business Insider, The Daily Telegraph and The Wall Street Journal – the broader campaign saw executions across TV, online and social media. It also saw the birth of Burger’s global directing partnerships.
Says Huntley: “Special Group team and the amaysim clients are a dream to work with, relaxed, efficient and willing to roll with the punches that inevitably get thrown your way. So when we came back for round two there was already a shorthand in place, not only with regards to how we would shoot but also in terms of communication on set.”
Says Alan Traquair, founder, Burger Films: “We’re proud to work with the likes of Special Group and amaysim so shortly after launching our global roster and look forward to growing our business to continue to offer talent and production services across the globe.”

These spots are so stilted, i don’t expect too much as he’s not great talent, but these have managed to lower the bar significantly.
That would be a no.
hopeless.
and we needed production from the Uk for it.
Come on boys.
Yep, these spots sure are “special”
When you are called ‘Special’ you better live up to it….but despite having some special clients , they seem to consistently do very ordinary work.
May have been good for a one off but a stilted series- go hassle free!
I think the hype has finally caught up with the reality..
There is nothing special here or previously and probably nothing special in the future.
Amaysim has a great product and doesn’t need all this, got to blame the agency and the client for even thinking it was a good idea or needed to be a TV led production. Nothing social or cultural about this stuff.
In spot number 2 did I hear him say ‘Asshole-free’?
Try it.
