Novak.jpgANZ ambassador and world number one tennis player Novak Djokovic has launched a new social media campaign #HeadbandForGood to help raise funds for global charity World Vision in the lead up and throughout the 2016 Australian Open.

Drawing inspiration from tennis greats such as Björn Borg, John McEnroe, Pat Cash and Andre Agassi, the campaign invites tennis fans to share a picture of themselves wearing a headband and using the hashtag #HeadbandForGood on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

For each picture shared, ANZ will donate $2 to World Vision in support of their projects across the Asia Pacific region. The bank will donate up to $100,000.

Says Joyce Phillips, CEO global wealth and group managing director marketing and innovation, ANZ: “World Vision is leading the global fight against poverty, and we’re very pleased to be supporting such an important cause. We will be encouraging all Australian’s to get involved and wear a headband during the Australian Open, it’s a really easy way to give back and help those in need.”

Says Tim Costello, CEO, World Vision Australia Rev: “It’s fantastic that ANZ is launching this campaign and throwing their support behind our cause. The money raised will make a real difference to the lives of so many across our region.”

#HeadbandForGood follows the success of last year’s #RallyForGood social media campaign which achieved more than 14 million social impressions and reached more than 2.6 million people.

The campaign, which commences with a YouTube video featuring Novak Djokovic, will be supported with TV, radio and digital media.

World Vision is a humanitarian and community development organisation dedicated to working with millions of children, families, and their communities worldwide. For decades it has been engaging people to work towards eliminating poverty and injustice.

In 2016, ANZ will enter its seventh year as associate sponsor of the Australian Open.
