Cadre Pictures launches in Melbourne

CadrePictures_team_photo (1).jpgCadre Pictures is the product of a group of extremely driven individuals who simply believe that they can do it better. A fresh start-up animation studio it may be, but the thing is, they have the runs on the board to be taken seriously.

Sigi Eimutis, Ben Bryan and Steven Kerswell are the founding partners of the newly formed Melbourne based animation and visual effects studio, Cadre Pictures.

Says Eimutis, co-founder and senior producer: “We were very disappointed to leave our previous employer, as we had invested so much time developing the team and building an extensive pipeline of tools designed specifically for efficient commercials production. In the last couple of years, we’d really advanced our capability for delivering large scale animation productions and were looking forward to offering that to more clients. But as it turns out, we are now all thrilled to be able to continue working together as a CG team.

“In hindsight, It was time for a change, and when change is thrust before you and nudges you into creating further change, it’s exciting. To be able to build our new offering from scratch, and tailor it to the current and future needs of the advertising community, with flexibility as the ‘magic sauce’, then you know you’re onto something good.”

Says Steven Kerswell, co-founder and senior producer: “After many years together it was good to have a break from the guys, but a few months down the line I’d lost my appetite, was feeling a bit sad and lonely and couldn’t work out why – then we hooked up again and have been rolling around together like puppies, but without the licking. The novelty will probably wear off soon, only this time I’m stuck with them.

“We have to be relevant, we need to provide a service both agencies and production companies not only want, but look forward to using. So not to dwell on the disappointment of the recent events, but to see the opportunity on offer to us, that’s the plan. Focus on the artistry whilst providing a platform for creative and technical innovation to better serve our clients.”

Says Ben Bryan, co-founder and technical director: “It feels liberating to be an independent team, we can build for the future and develop a service which moves with the needs of our clients. And it was a pleasure working with these guys at Iloura and Method, I just hope they don’t spoil it now and become all power-crazed. I have my suspicions which one might turn, just got to keep a close eye on him…”

And speaking of magic sauce, Alan Do, the very talented look development artist, joins Eimutis, Bryan and Kerswell to square-off the foundation corners of their studio venture.

Feel free to call, drop them an email, or send over some celebratory refreshments (their start-up fridges are looking a little sad at the moment). They’d be up for it.
