dave-wallace.jpgSydney-based media production and content company Engine has signed award-winning food, travel and lifestyle director Dave Wallace for his commercial projects.

Wallace’s career spans across 15 years in the film and TV industry. Having grounded his creative roots as a camera assistant, Wallace quickly evolved his vision by directing his own projects. Honing and perfecting his skill on long-form television projects he has set a new standard for food, travel and lifestyle programming. This was reflected by being part of the team that won the ASTRA award for ‘Best Lifestyle Series’ two years straight with Matt Moran’s Paddock to Plate. This success has lead to directing other television projects for Gary Mehigan and Manu Feildel.

In recent times, Wallace has collaborated with the likes of Sony, Red Bull and Cricket Australia on commercial content projects to complement his long-form work. His signing to Engine reflects his ambition to complete more commercial projects and apply what he has learnt from the world television to add a fresh perspective to the traditional TVC and content pieces. Core to his philosophy is taking a risk, using the latest tools and trusting his crew to get the best result possible.

For Engine, Wallace’s signing reflects its commitment to providing an outstanding full-service production offering for its clients, from shoot through to post. The relationship already resulted in its first full-service project for BWM Dentsu and the NBN – a project that involved a live action shoot integrated with sophisticated motion graphics. Says Wallace: “There’s a particular tone to Engine’s style that has always stood out to me. Their vision and foresight is embedded into every production. Collaborating on the NBN project was a nothing short of seamless and a brilliant example as to why I’m excited to join the team.”

Wallace is currently on location filming with Manu Feildel on an upcoming television project but is available for projects from the 22nd of March. His reel can be viewed here and enquiries can be made at dave@engine.net.au / +612 9438 2000.
