Interrogate director James Chappell releases hit music video ‘Sinful’ with Grammy artist Mat Zo
Interrogate director, James Chappell, has recently released the hit music video with Grammy nominated music producer Mat Zo. The video “Sinful” has been garnering massive international recognition for Chappell and Zo who is an International figure head in the dance music scene. Billboard, Rolling Stone, Complex magazines have high praise for the Chappell and Zo recent collaboration.
Chappell was approached by Zo based on his success and popularity in the music video world with artists and their fans. Chappell has worked on videos for artists like The Bloody Beetroots, Savage and Broadhurst to name a few. His unique take on the music video medium and consequence popularity of his videos has garnered Vimeo Staff Pics and Industry Awards. Most recently Chappell was asked to guest host the highly coveted Vimeo Director pick.
Chappell took brief from Zo, and heightened it to direct an evocative neo-noir sci-fi film that marries perfectly with Zo’s soulful disco shimmer. It has elements and inspiration from “Bladerunner”, with a sexy smart twist to the lead female character following a seductive femme robot that takes inspiration from the lead of the pole-dancing beauties she observes in an underground joint. She uses her silvery good looks to entice an unwitting human.
Says Chappell: “I juxtaposed a sci-fi world of retro-futurism, virtual reality and synthetic humans against an underworld of grunge, sin and sex to muse upon humanity’s many idiosyncrasies.”
Chappell is currently collaborating locally and internationally on a number of high-end music videos about to drop in the coming months along with TVC and content material.
