With over a decade of creative experience directing film and unique content, Hughes’ Melbourne based production studio The Woolshed Company, will work collaboratively with //13&CO on TVC and content films.

Beyond traditional commercial production, Hughes is well known for his body of documentaries, branded content and viral web series (120 million+ views) for clients such as Warner Bros. Screen Australia, NAB, Lionsgate, AFL & The Seven Network.

Coming from a successful entertainment family, it’s no surprise that Hughes won Gold for Best Viral Campaign at The 2015 Golden Trailer Awards in Los Angeles. His winning work, the infamous Roadshow Films viral hit ” Tornado Selfie” was directed by and features Hughes himself. It has gone on to amass an incredible 12.5 million views on YouTube.

RH_InkaWilliams_Work (1).jpgHughes’ targeted content work also includes annual campaigns for Triangl Swimwear, a brand touted as Australia’s leading swimwear brand built through online marketing alone. His first foray into short films, the 20 minuteRH_Tornado_work (1).jpg “Man”, was a finalist in the the 2014 Sydney Film Festivals prestigious Dendy Awards.

Continuing with the longer format, Hughes also created the long running #Discovered series for the Seven Network, featuring uniquely styled documentary pieces showcasing insights into the lives of AFL players off the footy field. These films have continued to air over the years during the AFL season’s prime-time Saturday Night Pre-Match Show, averaging 1 million viewers every week. In 2013 an episode of #Discovered won Hughes the prestigious Grant Hattam Award For Excellence In Journalism.

Says Charity Downing, EP: “Our clients are now embracing production models that extend well beyond the traditional 30Sec commercial. Rich is an incredible storyteller whose work comes to life in all these formats. His passion and energy for this craft is contagious”.
