Employment opportunity: Never trust a ‘dream job’ in an advertising agency, except this one

sydney-office5.jpgLongtail’s presence on the east coast has continued to gather momentum and it’s now looking for a creative lead to take up a ‘dream job’.

Says Josh Edge, creative director, Longtail: “For the right kind of personality, this is a dream agency gig. We’re looking for a person who is part-creative director, part-strategist and part-agency builder to essentially help build a creative agency from the ground up. We’ve planted the seeds of a new agency in Chippendale with some amazing clients, from CPG to Charity to Education; and a sister agency in WA to offer support and a wide range of west coast clients. The one thing we don’t have is a local creative leader, who is bursting to take the reins.”

Josh-Sharon-Carlo.jpgCarlo Bertozzi, CEO and founder of Longtail, is equally excited about the prospects.

Says Bertozzi: “For our part, we know it’s possible to create something really special in Sydney – because we’ve already done it on the west coast. We’re not going to bullshit anyone with tales of international agency networks or fat shareholder options, mostly because we don’t have any. But what we’ve built to date has been built by hand, by a small team of advertising junkies. But now we’re hungry to expand properly with someone capable of leading a brand new team.”

So if you’re sitting in a big (or small) Sydney agency, staring at yet another round of obliterated creative concepts in your bin, wondering what it’s all for – these guys want to talk. Right now.

Says Edge: “One last thing. We don’t care if you’re a man, woman, or other. We just need you to build and lead a team, so a certain degree of experience is expected. We need you to run alongside us in new business pitches and awards entries, so you’re going to have to do some heavy lifting on both sides of your brain. And if you’re who we think you are, you’ll be stoked to hear that.”

Longtail is encouraging anyone who is excited by this opportunity to contact them directly at creativity@longtail.com.au for a further chat.
