AFL’s Gary Ablett Jr + Scott Pendlebury star in Gatorade ‘Fierce’ spot via Whybin\TBWA Sydney
Gatorade has launched a new campaign to promote its Gatorade Fierce range via Whybin\TBWA Sydney.
A new level of intensity and boldness is captured in Gatorade Fierce, which offers athletes another hydration option during fierce moments of sport.
The campaign features two of the AFL’s top performing players – Gold Coast’s Gary Ablett Jr and Collingwood’s Scott Pendlebury – and uses captivating visuals to bring the bold and intense Fierce flavours to life.
The campaign is supported via a 15″ TVC, TV integration, digital, social, POS and on-field activity.
Says Brad Van Dijk, senior director beverages, PepsiCo Australia & New Zealand: “Gatorade Fierce has been a recognised success in the US and we are excited to launch into the Australian market with this highly engaging advertisement.”
Says Richie Taaffe, senior account director, Whybin\TBWA: “The campaign dramatises the bold and intense flavour that makes the Fierce range so popular. It was brilliant to have Scott and Gary, two of the AFL’s fiercest competitors, on board this campaign.”

Best thing I’ve ever seen.
Think that last line of the release should read “It was brilliant to have Scott and Gary, who used to be two of the AFL’s fiercest competitors” Game has passed them I think
Luckily the spot is so bad they are pretty much unrecognisable.
Utter rubbish, missed the mark by a long way.
Wow. Where does one start? Fierce.
@Not a good year – do you even watch footy? Pendles is having an brilliant season…he’s been the Pies best player.
Good ad by the way I like it.
What can I say…. but …. GO PIES!!
This is advertising of the future. Fucking epic.
I think Pendles needs to go off with the blood rule.
This is pretty average guys – come on with this brand and the passion around Aussie Rules this should be a lot better.
There’s no idea here. All style, no substance.
Hokey as fuck, really try hard stuff. I saw this and assumed it was done by some small, bad agency.
Biggest, ugliest piece of crap I’ve seen in a while.
