Clemenger BBDO Melbourne named top APAC regional winner at the 2016 Facebook Awards

The agency has scored three awards for Bonds ‘The Boys’, CUB ‘The Laziest Competition Ever’ and NAB ‘Fanshake’.

Other winners from Australia include Whybin\TBWA Sydney and Foxtel for Foxtel ‘Make It Yours’ and M.J. Bale ‘Unsuitable Journey’; DDB Sydney for Volkswagen ‘The Tough Sell’; SapientNitro for Mondelez International ‘ChocPlusWhat?’; DDB Group Melbourne for Kidsafe ‘The Unconventional Oven’; Leo Burnett Melbourne for SPC Ardmona ‘#MyFamilyCan’; Leo Burnett Sydney for Samsung Australia ‘Celebrity Tantrum’, Clemenger BBDO Sydney for Whiskas ‘Catstacam’ and SponsoredLinX Year 13 ‘#IAmNotANumber’.

Trends stemming from the APAC judging event:

  • This year’s award-winning campaigns consistently paid off bigger brand ideas — ideas first as opposed to likes, shares, memes or hashtags. Examples include: Ariel – Share the Load; Proctor and Gamble India; BBDO India and The Boys; Pacific Brands Underwear; Clemenger BBDO Melbourne.
  • We continue to see humor playing an important role in work that drives attention and cut through. Two campaigns that used humor to great effect this year were the Laziest Competition Ever for Carlton and United Brewing and The Boys for Pacific Brands Underwear both which were created by Clemenger BBDO Melbourne
  • Highlighting the increasing importance of mobile video, more than 80% of winning entries included a video component.
  • More than 50% of winning submissions came from Australia.

The Australian winners are moving on to the global judging event.
