Marcelle Gomez 2 (1).jpgInitiative Australia has announced the appointment of Marcelle Gomez as managing director of Initiative Sydney. Gomez is currently national chief implementation and investment officer of Initiative Australia and her new appointment is effective immediately.

Says Lee Leggett, CEO, Initiative Australia: “The most important part of my job is talent. And the most rewarding part of my job is seeing that talent flourish and grow. Marcelle will be an amazing leader for our Sydney business. She cares hugely about our clients, the work and our people. And I’m delighted that we have made this appointment from within Initiative, as Marcelle knows our business extremely well and will accelerate our progress.”

Gomez has worked within the IPG Mediabrands Australia for the past six years. She is a former group director at UM and has also been general manager of the Mediabrands’ investment and intelligence business Magna Global.

The appointment of Gomez is the third senior position revealed by Leggett in the past week. On Monday she announced the promotion of Geoff Clarke to be chief operating officer of Initiative Australia and Hannah Rook as national head of digital.

Says Gomez: “Initiative Sydney has built strong momentum this year including the win of The Cancer Council. I am looking forward to helping continue the great work through 2016 and beyond.”
