Deepend and Emotive make the cut at shortlist stage of Cresta International Advertising Awards

Emotive_Ricky Gervais_lo-res.JPGThe Cresta Awards, launched in 1993 by Creative Standards International to honor an absolute standard of creative excellence in advertising and marketing communications, announced the finalists in its 24th annual worldwide competition.

Deepend, Sydney has scored a finalist for its Ed and the Curious Crew App in the Interactive category while Emotive, Sydney has a finalist for Optus ‘Ricky Gervais Series for Optus’ in Branded Entertainment.

The Cresta Awards cover twelve major competitions: TV/Cinema/Online Film, Integrated Campaigns, Press, Outdoor, Ambient Media, Direct Marketing, Radio, Design, Promotions & Incentives, Branded Entertainment, Crafts and Interactive. Work is judged on the basis of two criteria only: the originality of the creative idea and the quality of its execution. A Grand Prix will be awarded to the highest scoring entries that achieve a pre-determined standard (above a ‘set’ score).

From the 53 countries participating in this year’s awards, 28 achieved finalist status. A total of 233 ads, campaigns and Interactive entries were chosen by close to 90 top creatives.  Pre-selection juries for TV/Cinema/Online Film, Press, Outdoor, Direct Marketing, Radio, Integrated Campaigns, Design, Crafts, Promotions & Incentives, Branded Entertainment and Ambient Media were held in 7 cities – Beirut, Bratislava, Caracas, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Lisbon and New York.  In addition, a separate pre-selection jury (22 jury members from 11 countries) was conducted for Interactive entries. 

                               

All finalists will be evaluated by Cresta’s International Grand Jury of 84 internationally known creative directors, film specialists, graphic designers and interactive professionals from 44 countries. The jury is chaired by Fadi Yaish, Regional Executive Creative Director, Impact BBDO, Dubai. Winner will be announced on Monday October 17.
