Hamish Macdonald 2.jpgAward-winning sound house Nylon Studios has announced the arrival of Hamish Macdonald who joins the studio as business partner and global executive producer.

Macdonald’s international experience spans both short and long format content, most recently strengthening the Method Studios brand across Asia as head of business development. He has also produced photographic TV series ‘Tales By Light’ for the National Geographic Channel and was post production supervisor on the successful Feature Film ‘The Mule’. He worked as EP at XYZ Studios and Illoura and was a producer at Exit Films.

Macdonald’s extensive background is what drew him to the attention of Nylon Studios founder Simon Lister. His industry passion and eye for talent landed him the role. He has relocated from Melbourne to join Nylon Studios’ Sydney-based headquarters.

Says Lister: “I’m absolutely thrilled to have Hamish join our team and he’ll bring a high level of expertise to our industry.”

Says Macdonald: “Being a long time client, I’ve always been so impressed by Nylon’s work and believe them to be the best in their field. But since getting to know the incredible pool of talent in both the Sydney and New York studios and seeing their love of their craft, I couldn’t think of a better team to partner with and help build on their successes into the future.”

The news comes off the back of Nylon Studios director of music Mark Beckhaus announcing his decision to retire to Mexico. Beckhaus leaves the business in trusted hands and believes Macdonald to be the right person to take Nylon Studios in an exciting new direction.

Says Beckhaus: “I’m lucky to have worked with some of the brightest minds in the business. I’m thankful for the privilege to have created great work in an industry with so many fun and talented people …but for now it’s adios y buena suerte from me.”
