Canon Australia unveils new campaign for LEAP photography challenge via Leo Burnett, Sydney

| | No Comments

image005.jpgCanon Australia has today launched LEAP, a high-energy 30-day photography challenge that’s designed to help photographers of all levels stretch their creativity. For each day for the month of September there will be a new brief and a new chance for people to create an image unlike any they have shot before.

LEAP’s creative concept development was by Leo Burnett Sydney with in-store integration work handled by The Zoo Republic and roadcase development by Exhibition Co.

Fully integrated across digital and social media, electronic outdoor media and in-store, LEAP aims to encourage people to use the simple and inspiring daily briefs accessed at random via the LEAP platform or pushed out daily in social media and on outdoor installations.

image007.jpgGetting involved is easy – simply shoot and share via Instagram using two hashtags: #TaketheLeap plus the hashtag of the brief they’re answering.

LEAP Kits – taking LEAP to the people

Helping the LEAP challenges come to life, Canon Australia has designed and built customised LEAP kits which comprise roadcases filled with image008.jpgcameras, printers, laptops, chargers, media and accessories – everything a retailer needs to host “LEAP meet” events for their own customers and communities.

Says Simon Russell, senior manager of product and customer marketing, Canon Australia: “One of the best ways to get better at photography is simply to go out and do it, but sometimes we need a bit of a nudge, or something to aim for, and that’s where LEAP comes in. This is fast-moving and agile format allowing us to customise briefs to location or even weather conditions.

“Our business focus is on providing experiences that stimulate achievement and satisfaction and how we enable our retail partners to bring these experiences to life in their stores is always top of mind for Canon. The big innovation with this LEAP Kits are self-contained experience centres that retailers can literally open up, plug in and hold an event for around 20 people.”

LEAP will run from the 1st September to 30th September, more information can be found here: canon.com.au/leap.
