The charity selected Communications Collective to develop the communications strategy and manage the campaign in collaboration with advertising agency M&C Saatchi, Hatched Media and OMD.

Smiling Mind develops online pre-emptive mental health and wellbeing programs based on mindfulness meditation for individuals, workplaces and schools.

The fully integrated campaign will run through to end of October, with traditional media, content marketing and social influencers to help spread the message. The campaign will also feature on billboards across Melbourne, secured pro-bono by OMD and Hatched Media.

The campaign’s message ‘Close Your Eyes to Open Your Mind’ encourages people to take a smiling selfie while meditating with their eyes closed and to share it across social media with the hashtags #closeyoureyestoopenyourmind and #smilingmind, to help create a mindful movement.

The campaign officially starts October 10, World Mental Health Day, until the end of October. The mindfulness meditation app is available to download free here.

Communications Collective also won The Plato Project account to produce content for a new online business publication and to manage an associated event series called The Dialogue, and to launch The Plato Project’s new business school called The Academy.

The Plato Project is focused on mindful leadership, entrepreneurship and purpose- driven business that looks after people, planet and profit.

Says Omar de Silva, co-director: “We are seeking to redefine business success and provide the tools to an emerging group of entrepreneurs and corporate leaders so that they can take that thinking out there into business culture in Australia.”

The new accounts will further build upon Communications Collective’s expertise in content marketing, education and health initiatives.

Says Genevieve Brannigan, managing director, Communications Collective: “We are thrilled to work alongside the two organisations and promote a more mindful approach to personal and professional work life for healthier, happier and more balanced communities and corporations.”
