Pharmacy Guild of Australia launches two spots via The Magnificent Itch and Jack Watts Currie

CaringDown_01.jpgAward winning animation company The Magnificent Itch has recently finished two commercials for the Pharmacy Guild of Australia through agency Jack Watts Currie.

Each film aims to change people’s perceptions of their local pharmacy from medicine dispensary to healthcare provider. The two new commercials form part of a ongoing campaign and focus on childcare and caring for elderly relatives.

Says Colin Watts, creative director, Jack Watts Currie: ”This campaign has been a labour of love for us all at Jack Watts Currie. We wanted to work with people who felt the same way. The guys at the itch nailed it.”

CaringDown_02.jpgBuilding on the original commercial’s picture book feel, all the elements were made to look as if they fold up, pop up style. Transitions were also created that let one scene fold into another like paper in a book. The team worked hard to give everything a hand drawn look with all the 3D animation created on ‘2’s’ to give it a traditional 2D animation feel.

Says Stefan Wernik, director, The Magnificent Itch: ”It’s always a pleasure to work with creative’s who want to explore such a great look and succinct storytelling. It’s a fantastic use of animation, which is very memorable and that’s always great for the client.”

The films are featured on the Pharmacy Guild website, YouTube and on social media. They are also being shown in stores nationwide.
