The campaign features three AFL players – Cyril Rioli from Hawthorn, Aliir Aliir from Sydney, and Lin Jong from the Western Bulldogs – alongside supporters from all eight AFL Finals teams.

The campaign will run throughout the remainder of the Toyota AFL Finals Series across a range of formats including television, digital and social media channels. The Virgin Australia Melbourne Lounge will host a striking portrait exhibition showcasing some of the players and fans featured in the campaign.

Says Arno Lenior, general manager of marketing, Virgin Australia: “We are passionate about celebrating and showcasing what’s possible when diversity is embraced, and there is no better time to do this than AFL Finals, when people from different walks of life come together under the colours of their team.

“We are encouraging people to focus on what’s important – the possibilities that exist when you break down barriers.

“At Virgin Australia, we believe that diversity creates more innovative, responsive and customer-led organisations.

“The campaign highlights the spirit of our organisation and we are thrilled to share it with the millions of Australians who will be united by the colours of their team this month.”

Says Darren Birch, general manager commercial operations, AFL: “We are proud that the AFL’s Official Airline Partner, Virgin Australia, has chosen the most exciting time of the year to tell a powerful story about the game and its fans.”

Virgin Australia is the official airline of the AFL. Each year Virgin Australia carries the 18 AFL teams on more than 330 flights, travelling more than 470,000km, and provides tens of thousands of extra seats to fans.
