London International Awards judging and Creative LIAisons mentoring program in Las Vegas proves to be another great success
Judging has just concluded at the Encore hotel in Las Vegas for this year’s London International Awards. Once again LIA put together an amazing judging line-up of around 110 across their 12 juries who judged over a 10 day period. Jury presidents this year included Mark Tutssel (Leo Burnett Global CCO), Rob Reilly (McCann Global Creative Chairman), Susan Credle (FCB Global CCO), and Malcolm Poynton (Cheil Worldwide Global CCO) amongst others.
This year was also the fifth year of the highly regarded Creative LIAisons mentoring program – by far the best young creative learning experience that exists globally.
Creative LIAisons is fully funded by LIA and runs concurrently with the LIA Awards judging. Not only do the 85 attendees have the opportunity to listen to some of the industry’s biggest names, but they’re also invited to sit in with the Juries on statue discussions. This represents a unique opportunity for the creatives to experience the judging process and the healthy judging debates.
This year’s speakers included the legendary Bob Isherwood, along with Ted Royer (Droga5 New York), Mark Tutssel (Leo Burnett Worldwide), Matt Eastwood (J. Walter Thompson Worldwide), Malcolm Poynton (Cheil Worldwide), Taras Wayner (R/GA, USA), Pum Lefebure (Design Army, New York), Chris Smith (The Richards Group, USA), Doerte Spengler-Ahrens (Jung von Matt Germany), Ralph van Dijk (Eardrum Australia), and Chris West (Verbal Identity Ltd, USA).
The star-studded lineup of speakers also included Daymond John – Founder & CEO of FUBU, Presidential Ambassador for Global Entrepreneurship, Star of ABC’s Shark Tank and CEO of The Shark Group, Kevin Harrington – Inventor of the Infomercial, Original Shark on ABC’s Shark Tank, co-founder of Entrepreneurs Organization, Saras Sarasvathy, Isidore Horween Research Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship.
Throughout the judging and Creative LIAisons mentoring program there were a series of dinners and parties, including the Creative LIAisons party at Surrender nightclub, that also makes the week so special for both judges and young creatives alike.
