Ex-Sportsbet team Dan Howe and Wen Shi launch Set To Suite – a new modular production company

Ex Sportsbet production seniors Dan Howe, director and DOP and Wen Shi, designer and animator launch new Melbourne based production company Set To Suite – specialising in production, post and animation for all mediums.

A large head count and mass amounts of infrastructure are usually big selling points for production companies, however Howe, director and partner for Melbourne based Set To Suite says they have purposefully chosen the opposite direction.

Says Howe: “We didn’t decide to start a production company and then think about what our model would be, we saw a gap and realised there was an opportunity here to work differently.

“Brands know they need to have video content, however when they do the math for longer form or multiple short form pieces, standard TVC budgets are unrealistic.

“Our approach a modular, besides giving ourselves a nice little buzzword to throw around it means we are set up to adapt.

“As creatives first we don’t compromise on quality, this is about helping brands and agencies get as much out of their production dollar as possible.

“Focussing on building a network of producers, creative talent and dry-hire resources instead of spending millions on gear means we can scale to work on a large TVC with ease using the best people and equipment in the country, but not charge smaller jobs for the five Alexas we have sitting in the cupboard.”
