YLLOW-TAIL-SUPER-BOWL.jpgAustralian-owned wine label Yellow Tail is betting big on next month’s Super Bowl, buying up local ad spots of Fox stations in 70 markets across the US to air a new, 30-second commercial, created by New York based The Burns Group.

The media buy, which circumvents the exclusive national in-game alcohol category deal enjoyed by Anheuser-Busch, is expected to reach an expected 100 million households. It is the first wine brand to advertise on the Super Bowl in 40 years.

The ad, helmed by Dutch-born director Harald Zwart, features ‘Yellow Tail Guy’and a kangaroo enjoying Yellow Tail wine in various locations, at a party, a backyard BBQ and the beach.

Yellow Tail is distributed in the US by Deutsch Family Wines and Spirits.
