WESTPAC-SCOUNDREL.jpgCB Exclusive – This year the one million visitors that attend Sydney Chinese New Year Festival will be greeted by a new digital installation created by Scoundrel Projects in partnership with City of Sydney and the Festival’s Principal Partner, Westpac.

The installation features a seven metre screen that flashes through 300 individual fortunes every minute. Festival goers are invited to snare their fortune simply by taking a photo of the fluctuating screen.

With a new fortune appearing every 0.2 seconds, and with 600 unique messages, the activation is the digital equivalent to reaching into a giant jar of fortune cookies.

“Chinese New Year has become one of Sydney’s largest and brightest festivals, and Scoundrel Projects is proud to be a creative partner,” says Scoundrel Project’s James Dive.

Now in its 21st year, the festival is the third largest yearly event in Sydney, and has developed into an internationally renowned celebration of Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai and Korean culture.
