Carat Australia has today announced the appointment of Andrea Rule (left) to the role of chief marketing officer – the latest in a series of key C-level appointments for the agency in the last 12 months, including CEO Paul Brooks (right) and chief data and experience officer, Brendon Cropper.

Rule departs as head of brand at Yahoo7 after five years with the business, now tasked with heading up Carat’s existing marketing function. Her remit will include brand positioning, trade marketing, and contributing to new business development nationally.

Carat CEO Paul Brooks credits Rule’s ‘unique and versatile skillset’ as integral to the decision, with Rule having worked across agency, publisher, and client-side over the course of her career.

Says Brooks: “Andrea is a brilliant hire for us. We’ve been looking for the right candidate with a very specific skillset in mind – one I’m delighted to say we’ve found in Andrea. Her commercial nous and proven expertise in strategic integration and content marketing will no doubt be an invaluable asset to Carat.

“It goes without saying she’s extremely well-respected and highly sought-after in market. Her appointment signifies our continued focus on and commitment to recruiting high performing talent.”

Says Rule: “This presents an opportunity to work with a great team and market leading brand. I’ve been impressed with the innovative approach Carat has to marketing and I’m looking forward to continuing and evolving that effort.”

Rule commences officially on Monday 19th June, and will be based out of Sydney.
