Jonathan May joins Flint’s roster

Jonathan May Scouts (1).jpgEstablished photographer and directing newcomer, Jonathan May has joined Sydney based integrated production company Flint.

May, a conceptual and portrait photographer, has produced work for Google, Virgin Mobile, Telstra, Snickers, NRMA, and Qantas, as well as motion work for Commonwealth Bank, TAL Insurance and the Australian Hotels Association (AHA).

Says Tim Berriman, EP, Flint: “Jonathan is a talented image maker and is a great addition to the team at Flint. We are very much looking forward to growing and developing his film work, alongside his already accomplished photography.”

10. DESERT INK (1).jpgMay has made a gritty reality show sizzle, “Desert Ink” from his photography series which exhibited in Sydney and Tel Aviv and was a finalist in the hEAd oN portrait prize.

Desert Ink is based on eight Mexican gangsters who found redemption through art and tattooing.

2. Awake (1).jpgMore recently, May has been working on a short film, “Hand Made”, which is about the legendary surfboard shaper and his good friend, Mark Rabbidge.

Says May: “My photography is not just about visual storytelling, it’s a connection with my subjects, with the goal being to evoke emotion in the viewer. The possibilities for this in film are endless, so I am excited to be working in both mediums.”
