WPP AUNZ appoints former Human founder and MD Kate Walker to new group client director role

Kate Walker_1039.jpgWPP AUNZ has announced the appointment of Kate Walker to the newly created role of group client director, as part of a push to drive deeper horizontality and collaboration across the group’s 80 operating companies.

 

Walker will work alongside chief business director, Rob Currie and chief strategy officer Rose Herceg, with a clear remit to provide clients with best-in-class talent and capability from across the group.

Chief business director, Rob Currie said hiring leaders of Walker’s calibre is part of the Group’s objective to deliver 100% of clients’ customer experience requirements.

 

Says Currie: “Kate is an incredible talent with a wide breadth of leadership experience plus deep specialisation in managing large diversified teams of talent for clients. As clients increasingly demand bespoke Team Models, Kate’s experience will be invaluable to ensure WPP AUNZ creates strong, effective collaborative team cultures that truly work for its existing, and prospective, clients.”

Walker has earned her stripes holding senior roles for a number of WPP and STW Group companies.  Previously she was Founder and MD of WPP AUNZ specialist brand and culture agency, Human and prior to that was instrumental in building a national network of agencies to service IAG brands in NSW, QLD, SA & WA. Previous roles included general manager of creative agency, J. Walter Thompson Sydney.

Walker was also co-founder and CEO of not-for-profit organisation Conscious Capitalism Australia, the first chapter of the organisation outside of the USA.

Walker’s appointment is effective immediately.
