Canon flips food photography on its head in latest ‘The Lab’ film via Leo Burnett Sydney

Screen Shot 2017-05-05 at 11.58.11 am.jpgA look at Aussies’ social media feeds will tell most that food photography is one of Australia’s favourite indulgences – mirroring a passion for everything that looks great and tastes even better. Flipping this on its head, what would happen if food photography featured everything but the food itself? Relying on just taste and texture, how would this look in a single frame?

This is the theme of the latest instalment of Canon’s The Lab series via Leo Burnett Sydney, which aims to shift creative thinking behind the lens. The latest episode, titled The Lab – Menu, sees three photographers challenged to create images inspired by a blind tasting experience at acclaimed Sydney restaurant Automata – with none other than founder and head chef, Clayton Wells.
