ODFC.jpgFor the fourth year running, today (Friday 19 May) sees Dentsu Aegis Network hold One Day for Change – an annual initiative in which all staff across the Asia Pacific region stop work to give back to the communities in which they live and work.

Over 1,000 Dentsu Aegis Network staff will get behind the initiative by uniting in their efforts to support charitable organisations within their local communities, and consequently creating huge positive impact across Australia and New Zealand.

Last year, more than 1,500 staff across Australia and New Zealand rallied together on One Day for Change to donate a total of 5,100 hours to causes close to their hearts, adding to a collective team of 6,100 staff and 29,000 hours of time across Dentsu Aegis Network’s APAC region.

Following the success of One Day for Change 2016, the 2017 event revisits Champions for Children as an overarching theme – one which encompasses health, education, water, abuse, family and housing for underprivileged children.

Staff at Dentsu Aegis Network in Australia and New Zealand will be supporting over 20 different charities, including Habitat for Humanity, The Smith Family, Camp Quality, Royal Far West, Backpacks for SA Kids, Parkerville Children & Youth Care Services, Bluearth, NorthCott, TLC for Kids, AIME, Orange Sky Laundry, Eat Up, Australian Red Cross, Crime Stoppers, UNLTD, Save the Children, World Vision, Missing School, and Two Good.

Says Simon Ryan, CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network ANZ: “As a business we are invested in the communities in which we live and work. One Day for Change presents an opportunity for our staff to come together and demonstrate our commitment to society by making a positive, tangible contribution to the lives of people around us.”

Says Tim Conolan, CEO and founder of TLC for Kids: “Organisations like ours can only exist and thrive with the help of others. We’re very grateful to the Dentsu Aegis Network for donating their time to our cause – One Day for Change has made a real difference to us and the families we support.”

Says Nick Waters, CEO Dentsu Aegis Network Asia Pacific: “All businesses have responsibilities to the communities in which they operate, and to society in general. Those that accrue benefits from globalisation, digitisation, and other macro forces currently at work have a moral obligation to contribute support to those that are less fortunate. This initiative enables our people to volunteer their time and energy. We have some other initiatives, and will develop more, with an aim to foster inclusiveness and to bridge the digital divide.”
