Full Stop Foundation launches new 'Sound of Violence' awareness campaign via BMF

Screen Shot 2017-05-01 at 8.32.20 am.jpgFull Stop Foundation has this week launched a new video, developed by advertising agency BMF (who kindly donated its services at no charge) highlighting that domestic and family violence can take forms beyond physical violence.

While many mainly think of physical abuse as domestic violence, other types of controlling behaviour leave no visible scars but are still incredibly damaging for domestic violence survivors across Australia.

The #MakeItStop campaign video, challenges perceptions that physical abuse is the only or worst type of domestic violence. Financial abuse and emotional abuse are common but often unrecognised forms of domestic abuse. Domestic violence is about power and control, and the scars of emotional and financial abuse run deep.

Every year, The Full Stop Foundation helps support more than 20,000 people who have experienced sexual assault, family and domestic violence. The Full Stop Foundation counsellors provide face to face, online, and over the phone counselling to men, women, and children. The counsellors work on the front line to reduce and ultimately eliminate sexual assault and domestic violence in Australia.
