MADC-president.jpgCB Exclusive – Following the interstate relocation of outgoing president Grant Rutherford, the MADC is calling for nominations for president.

The 60-year-old club has been reinvented in previous years, after the conclusion of the MADC Award Show. In its place came the ‘After Party’ and the invention of the MADC Star, a sole award given to the best Melbourne campaign of the year. Along with regular ‘MADC Presents’ events and recently a rebooted MADC RAW.

The club firmly believes Melbourne creatives punch well above their weight and there’s a huge sense of solidarity and comradery in this town that we must continue to nurture and celebrate.

If you’re up for the challenge, nominations and expressions of interest for MADC president should be directed to info@madc.com.au before June 23rd.

With that in mind, the committee’s vision is to support, celebrate and promote advertising creativity in Melbourne: “We have big plans for the creation of a new Mentor Scheme in conjunction in with leading universities, an expansion of ‘MADC Presents’, a new take on the MADC After party, and the creation of a showcase for Melbourne creativity along with more local recognition of great work.

“We’re looking for someone with vision, passion and an entrepreneurial spirit to help us make these plans a reality. And of course, bring their own ideas to the table. We’re looking for a doer who is willing to put their hand up for a two-year commitment, progressing the club into a new era.”

The appointment of president will in turn begin the process of nominations for the replacement of long-standing retiring committee member, Helene Nicol.

Thanks in advance to all interested parties from the current MADC committee:

Nick McDonald – A3 Recruitment

Tony Prysten – McCann

Tracy Proposch – PRO-DUCE
