OzMarket (1).jpgVideo content created by CX agency Lavender to support the launch of the OzHarvest Market is hitting the right notes with audiences, attracting 1.2 million Facebook views in the first week and currently sitting at more than 1.6 million views.

OzHarvest is rewriting the rule book on how people can shop for groceries following the launch of its new ‘take what you need, give what you can’ supermarket.

The OzHarvest Market is Australia’s first-ever rescued food supermarket, stocked with produce that has either been donated or would otherwise go to waste, but is perfectly edible. The purpose of the initiative is to make rescued food available to everyone, especially those who need it most.

All produce stocked has been donated by businesses, supermarkets and bakeries. Every dollar donated contributes back into OzHarvest, with $1 providing 2 meals for someone in need.

The 70-second video created by CX agency Lavender has been viewed more than 1.6 million times on Facebook, generating close to 38,000 shares in less than two weeks. It follows the huge success last year of Lavender’s ‘Wasty’ content series – rescued food recipe videos shot in the style of the popular Tasty recipe videos.

Says Ronni Kahn, founder and CEO of OzHarvest: “The essence and the love of the OzHarvest Market was so beautifully captured in the video by Lavender. The amount of views has exceeded our expectations, but shows how brilliantly they have told our story. They love us and we love them.”

Says Marco Eychenne, executive creative director, Lavender: “OzHarvest is doing amazing work in addressing the urgent problem of food waste and educating the public on how best to work towards food waste reduction. Working with Ronni and her team is incredibly rewarding and we’re pleased our content is resonating with audiences. For a modest Facebook spend, we’ve been able to reach a large number of Australians and offer them an insight into the OzHarvest Market concept.”

The OzHarvest Market is located at The Addison Hotel on Anzac Parade in Kensington, Sydney. It opened on 19 April and will remain open for as long as the site is available.

CX agency Lavender is celebrating 20 years as Australia’s longest standing independent agency.
