The agency has lured a number of generalists and specialists from its multinational competitors, bolstering its capabilities across media planning and buying, creative development, marketing technology and complex analytics.

Says Jason Dooris, CEO: “These hires are yet another example of strong culture leading to strong business results leading to strong hires which in turn leads to an even stronger culture.”

The new hires follow a host of new business wins. In the past month alone the Sydney office

has won work with blue chip brands Lendlease and Nespresso. The Melbourne office has

also begun work with BHP plus more wins to be revealed.

One of the most promising new hires is Cassandra Do Carmo, who has joined the ranks from

Vizeum as strategist. She was one of Dentsu’s rising stars but has jumped ship to Atomic,

and will work as protégé to the agency’s award-winning chief strategy officer Ben Taylor,

who made the swap from Vizeum some months back. Do Carmo is a 2016 Young Lions

finalist, and boasts a wealth of experience across FMCG, banking and travel.

Pauline Smyth has also been brought on board as media manager, after more than four years at Mediacom’s Edinburgh and Sydney offices, during which time she oversaw major brands like Revlon and Carnival Cruises. She will bolster the Media team, bringing European FMCG and Retail experience to the agency, and strengthening Atomic’s promise to fast track global learnings in the Australian market.

The agency has also welcomed Josh Bone as client lead for the agency’s newest business win, Lendlease. Bone has previously worked major multinationals like OMD. However, he has moved away from simple buying-oriented large agency groups that rely on scale, and taken up residence in a more nimble, strategic, intellectually driven business, which is focused on insights and results. He has been in the industry for just under a decade, working on major accounts like Village Roadshow, Adidas and Samsung.
